    How To Choose The Right Venue For Your Venue


    This is often one of the most difficult decisions for engaged couples. Recent research has shown that the average spend on the wedding venue was €9,617. That accounts for almost 50% of the average budget. There are three main venue types available for the typical wedding. They are as follows:

    1. Marquee Wedding – If you own or have use of suitable private property, then a marquee wedding could be for you. Everything from the catering to the decorations and marquee itself, can be hired in with appropriate staffto look after everything. This also cuts out the hotel, and subsequently may greatly reduce the overall cost of the wedding. It is worth mentioning that if you are the type of person who stresses about holding events on their own property or similar, this option may not be for you. However, if you feel with the appropriate vendors you would enjoy a marquee wedding, then steer clear of ‘the hotel function room norm’ and go for it!

    2. Hotel – Arguably the most common venue for a wedding, but this is not without good reason. Many brides to be opt for the hotel option as it can reduce stress levels, and the hotel will can offer various packages with transparent prices. Hotels can often assist in providing an in house wedding planner and recommended list of suppliers. However, once a package deal is agreed, unanticipated changes and add-ons can quickly add up and become pricey. Should you decide to go with the hotel as your venue, discuss the availability of add-ons and changes as well as the price in advance, before agreeing to a package with the hotel.

    3. Privately Rented Venue – Another option for your wedding venue involves renting private property for your big day. This option can be great for small weddings and such a venue can help in achieving a more intimate wedding. However, this option can be costly and given the fact the property is privately owned, you may not have the complete run of the place on the day.
